What CLASSES Focus on

God has given toddlers somethings adults could only dream of: limitless potential to learn and retain information! A toddler's brain changes shape and size in response to new environments, life experiences, and relationships which impacts how their brains get hardwired. 90% of brain development finishes by 5 years of age. During early adulthood, the synaptic density will be half of that of a toddler at age two. So in short, you have a little genius in your hands. Toddler Modern Art is here to help enrich your child's formative years by exploring art in a calm, relaxed, and Christ-centered environment. Parents of children up to three years of age are encouraged to participate in the class.

What CLASSES Focus on

Fine motor skills. Grasping pencils, crayons, chalk and paintbrushes develop pre-writing skills, and other tasks that require controlled movements.
Cognitive development. Learn and practice skills like patterning, cause and effect and critical thinking skills. "Pressing down harder on a crayon makes the color darker!" "I will draw the picture I have in mind."
Math skills. Sizes, shapes, making comparisons, counting and spatial reasoning. Understanding math is imperative to future academic success.
Language skills. The focus of every class is a Bible story, which culminates in an art piece they create. Describing and sharing their artwork and process develop language skills.

MONTHLY ART EXHIBITS

Build a love for art appreciation at a young age! Bring your toddlers to Toddler Modern Art's monthly art exhibit, while sipping on milk and nibbling on cookies against a relaxing backdrop of classical music. Adults must be accompanied by their children to enter. A commission of art proceeds will go to the families whose toddler created the art. You will see art made on canvas or paper using various mediums such as watercolor, gouache, chalk, crayon, color pencils. Sculptures will be in air dry clay, Play Doh, paper mache, upcycled items, and things from nature. Times and locations will be announced two weeks prior to each exhibit.
